Dr Rachel Brown
Dr Rachel Brown is an experienced psychologist specialising in systems change, community development and trauma informed practice. With a root training in Clinical Psychology, Rachel is also integrates Community and Eco Psychology within her practice.
Rachel’s core experiences come from working in leadership, consultancy and supervision roles across the third sector and NHS (health, education, housing, environment) for over 15 years. She has led the delivery of trauma and psychologically informed strategies across multiple organisations and is an experienced trainer, supervisor and facilitator.
Rachel has completed additional training in Eco Psychology, permaculture, trauma informed leadership, nature-based facilitation and supervision. This extra skill set enables her to bridge the fields of ecology and psychology and hold a 'whole systems' approach across her practice. A central tenant of Rachel’s work is reigniting peoples passion and values based practice through rebuilding awareness, belonging and connection.

Rachel offers a foundational training package in Psychological and Trauma Informed Approaches. Further continuing professional development (CPD) modules compliment this introductory course and facilitate development from ‘trauma aware’ towards ‘trauma integrated’.

Rachel specialises in offering supervision and consultancy to people who work in the fields of Homelessness, Housing, Substance Use and Mental Health.
This may be monthly supervision that focuses on clinical practice, the impact of the work and professional development. We know that working in situations of complexity can impact staff. Moral Injury, burnout and compassion fatigue are high in staff groups across health, social care and education. Sometimes it can be hard to feel you are working in line with your values and work can feel draining.
The specific factors that lead to stress and burnout may be global and situated in the wider system. However, by gathering as a group and intentionally processing some of your experiences, alongside engaging in activities to enhance your connection, joy and meaning in the work, we can find ways forward.
Rachel offers group or team staff wellbeing days using a Eco Psychology frame. This offer can be flexible depending on your needs. Rachel also offers a rolling programme of workshops entitled Heart of the Matter: Resourcing yourself to manage complexity. This group is open to everyone to book.
