A Clinical Psychology Practice Grounded in Relationships

Lingmell Psychology provides trauma‑informed, neuro‑affirming and capacity‑building Clinical Psychology services for families, individuals and organisations in Bristol, across the UK and online.

We support parents and caregivers of children experiencing Autism, Neurodivergence, Learning Disability and other Special educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), as well as professionals working in broader trauma‑exposed roles across education, mental health, homelessness and learning disability services.

Our work is grounded in thoughtful, nurturing relationships that strengthen the wellbeing of those who care for and support others.

Dr Andrew Bamber

Clinical Psychologist | Children & Families: Specialist in Learning Disability & Neurodiversity

Andrew is a psychologist specialising in work with children and their families, particularly in the context of SEND, learning disability, autism and additional needs, including ADHD and neurodivergence. His work is grounded in collaboration, care and a deep understanding of the systems that surround children and young people.

He supports families to make sense of complexity, reduce distress and build practical, compassionate ways forward.

Andrew has held highly specialist, leadership roles within the NHS across the country in Hertfordshire, Bristol and Gwent, undertaking complex assessment and therapeutic work with children and families across homes, schools, hospitals and care environments.

Andrew’s work is focused on helping children and families to understand the complex overlapping challenges that present when supporting young people with developmental and neurodivergent needs. Andrew supports families to feel, supported and empowered, developing practical and compassionate care plans that improve quality of life for the young person and those around them.

Dr Rachel Brown

Clinical Psychologist | Adults & Organisations: Specialist in Trauma Informed Approaches

Rachel works with individuals, organisations and communities responding to trauma. Her work bridges Clinical Psychology with Community and Eco-Psychology to support sustainable, values-led change.

Rachel has over 15 years’ experience in leadership, consultancy, supervision and training roles across the NHS and third sector, including health, education, housing/homelesness and environmental contexts. She has led the development and delivery of psychologically informed and trauma-aware strategies across a wide range of organisations. Rachel is a skilled reflective-practice facilitator, who offers containing and compassionate spaces for staff to process the impact of working in trauma exposed roles and reflect on their interactions, responses and needs.
